PANJIM: Protesting against the manner in which the investigation proceeded into the pub attack case, the local residents have demanded to collect evidences including blood stains from the car in which alleged assailant Zaine Almeida fled after stabbing the two locals, for forensic examination.
Even as a few selective police officers are under severe criticism over the slackness into the case investigation, a large number of local residents held a solidarity candlelight vigil at Campal on Saturday evening also demanded to know why there was a delay into the forensic aspect of the investigation.
“After the violent sword attack, Zaine fled in his car along with the weapon and a proper examination of the case would reveal blood stains in the car. Mere attachment of the car would not be sufficient. Blood stains, if any so also all the mats of the vehicle ought to have been attached and sent for forensic analysis to examine if the same contained blood which may have been washed away subsequently,” reads the memorandum, submitted to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
