Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai rode the people first formula to take Fatorda Forward home and deliver a stunning verdict which established people’s power in the states commercial capital. Speaking after the resounding victory of his panel, Sardesai said that his ‘Fatorda Forward’ model that showed that the people trust and support should be replicated as model for all other areas across Goa as people want young and good candidates.

“The message that is sent across is that people want clean and non-corrupt faces and we stuck to this mantra and did not indulge in back channel games like the BJP who tried to file B and C teams to divide the vote bank and failed,” said Sardesai. He said he was confident of winning all his seats despite the presence of the Chief Minister, MPs, Union Ministers and even the attempt of the BJP to manipulate the elections via the faulty delimitation and reservation process. He also pointed out that the minority community had not been divided by the tactics of the BJP.
Sardesai also took a dig at the BJP for failing to take into confidence the people as per the philosophy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’. He gave examples of how his concepts of holding ward wise meetings under the banner of ‘Fatorda Dialogues’ was the best way of understanding the grievances and demands of people with regard to civic amenities.
