MARGAO: Margao Municipal Council Chairperson Lyndon Pereira, who led the team taking action on illegal vendors doing business near the New Market also promised that the garbage that is lying for over a week on the roadside would be cleared off soon.
The situation was getting worse as the garbage was kept just next to the drains, which are not covered, and in the rains Margao has experienced lately that some of the dirt has gone back to the drains. The drains were not covered as the pavers are damaged and need to be replaced. Municipality has placed orders for the pavers, there is no excuse absolutely for not picking up the waste from the drains that has already been removed.
