Permanent solution to casino issue in few months: CM

PANJIM: All Chief Minister
Manohar Parrikar today said that all worries regarding casinos would be laid to
rest in a few months.

After chairing the
first cabinet meeting of his government, Parrikar, said that he will not reveal
anything now.

“…but within a
few months I will find a permanent solution so that that all your worries
regarding the casinos are over,” he said.

A day after his
government won the floor test, Parrikar further said “Now speculations about
stability of government in Goa should be stopped. Our government will last for
5 years.”

Giving details of
the cabinet decision Parrikar said that cabinet finalised the Governor’s
speech.

“The speech will
more or less indicate in which direction the government will go but for that
you will have to wait till Governor’s speech on March 23, which has been
approved today,” he said.

Mhadei

Parrikar said that
his government is concerned about the Mhadei issue and as such by Monday Goa
Governments strategy on Mahadayi water dispute will be decided.

“It is very
important issue for us,” said CM adding “We will take care of Goa and handle
the issue very seriously.”

LIQUOR SALE

 

On the Supreme
Court ban on liquor sale on highways, Parrikar said Legal examination is on
about the issue of liquior outlets on highways.

“We will give a
solution to the problem,” he said.

The cabinet
approved appointment of Adv Dattaprasad Lawande, who is currently Additional
Advocate General, as the Advocte General of Goa.

The post had fallen
vacant after Saresh Lotlikar resigned as AG.
