PANJIM: Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel has exposed the discrepancies that were committed while granting permissions to Sunburn Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festival that took place in 2022.
In his affidavit submitted before the High Court of Bombay at Goa, the Chief Secretary informed the court that the permissions and clearances to Sunburn were granted on the basis of wrong procedures full of discrepancies.
The CS in his affidavit claims that the organisers have committed violations in sound permissions and has blamed it on the lack of coordination between the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) and the Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO).
The affidavit sworn by the CS also mentions how the organisers got permissions for the event from the SDPO and the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) within 24 hours i.e. No Objection Certificate (NOC) was sought on December 27 and granted on December 28. He said that this is gross violation of the rules.
