PERNEM: Since the beach tourism season came to a close, stray cattle have found unhindered access to the beaches of Pernem, a sight witnessed as a group of them sauntered along the Ashwem-Morjim road on Saturday afternoon.
These ownerless cattle, left to wander, roam freely along the beach, causing inconvenience to even the off-season visitors. Feeding on discarded waste, particularly plastic, due to the absence of proper fodder, they pose a dual threat by encroaching on roads and disrupting traffic flow, leading to potential accidents.
Concerned locals have voiced the urgent need for authorities to intervene, suggesting the relocation of these cattle to a safer environment. Their unchecked consumption of plastic puts their health at risk, warranting prompt action.
