PERNEM: Pernem Municipal Council (PMC) Chairperson Siddhesh Pednekar and his deputy Ashwini Palyekar resigned from their respective posts on Wednesday as per a mutual understanding.
Both presented their resignations to the Directorate of Municipal Administration on Wednesday.
After the new council was formed, all 10 councillors, as per mutual understanding had decided to be chairperson and deputy chairperson on a rotational basis.
Usha Nagvekar served as the first chairperson of the new municipal council followed by Madhav Sinai Desai.
According to sources, Shivram Tukoji and Vishakha Gadekar are likely to be elected as the next chairperson and deputy, respectively.
