Pernem Fire Station watch room operator retires

PANJIM: Ashok Krishna Aroskar, a watch room operator at Pernem Fire Station retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation on Wednesday.

Aroskar joined the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services on April 1, 1986 as a fire fighter and was promoted to the post of watch room operator in 1990. He completed 37 years and half year of unblemished service in the department.

During the superannuation function, Director of Fire and Emergency Services Nitin V Raiker, presented a flower bouquet, shawl, departmental memento and service certificate, while Deputy Director (Fire) Rajendra Haldankar presented a traditional lamp to Aroskar.

In his brief speech, Raiker praised the Aroskar for his unblemished service and wished him the very best in his future endeavour. Amongst others present were Francisco Mendes, Divisional Officer, South Zone-Margao; Shripad Gawas, Divisional Officer; Ajit K Kamat, Assistant Divisional Officer Bosco Ferrao, Assistant Divisional Officer Deepak Sawant, Honorary Secretary, Goa Fire Service Welfare Fund; John Veracurz, Assistant Account Officer and also the administrative and operational staff of the Directorate.

Ravi Naik, Station Fire Officer, Training Section compered the function and later Bosco Ferrao proposed a vote of thanks.
