After the Town and Country Planning Minister, Vishwajit Rane announced the discontinuation of the current Pernem Zoning plan, there was a celebratory meeting among the people of Pernem. They rejoiced over the success in scrapping the Pernem Zoning plan.
The locals decided to end their hunger strike as the TCP Minister assured them of resolving the issue. However, they made it clear that if action is not taken promptly, they will resume their agitation.
“We will submit a memorandum to the TCP minister and the authorities regarding this issue, we will also give them 8 days time to resolve this issue completely and officially. We also request the authorities to look into the rampant hill cutting at Mandrem,“ Prasad Shahpurkar.
The Sarpanch emphasized the importance of community support to save Mandrem Hill, stating that everyone should come together to protect the hills and preserve Mandrem.
“The panchayat is always with the people as long as the people come out and fight for what is right,” said Sarpanch Amit Sawant.
