PERNEM: Residents of Porascadem in Pernem Taluka have objected to a mobile tower being installed within the premises of the Government primary school.
The villagers on Thursday gathered in large numbers and threatened to stop sending their children to school if the government does not halt the ongoing work on the tower.
“We raised objections to the tower at the gram sabha and submitted a letter with 500 people opposing it. We don’t want this tower in the jurisdiction of school and expose our loved ones to radiation,” said villagers.
Instead of spending money on this tower, the government should think about upgrading the school building which is in a pathetic condition, said villagers.
