PERNEM: A group of people from Pernem taluka including social activist Rekha Parab have submitted a memorandum to department of Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited demanding proper transport connectivity in Pernem taluka. In the memorandum, the group stated that there are is no direct bus connectivity for internal villages to main Pernem town due to which people have to take two or three buses to reach the main town.
These villages include Alorna, Talarna, Chandel, Hasapur, Ibrampur, Ozari, Nagzar and others.
Rekha Parab said, “Pernem town houses all the government department offices, court, schools, college and market due to which people have to travel to the main town every day but since there are no direct buses coming to Pernem town from these villages, people have to sometimes take two or three different buses to reach the main town or hire private transport.”
We request the KTCL to look into the matter and improve the transport connectivity”.
Parab also pointed that absence of proper transport connectivity is one of the reason why the Pernem taluka has remained behind in terms of development.
