PANJIM: The Progressive Front of Goa (PFG) met the Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai on Thursday and demanded that the latter rejects the Goa Bhumiputra Adhikarini Bill, 2021.
Even as the Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant had stated that the bill has been withdrawn, PFG said the bill should be scrapped in toto as opposed to what the CM had said about reintroducing it at the next assembly session with amendments.
PFG leaders which included Prajal Sakharandade and Hrudaynath Shirodkar said that Goans will not only bear the brunt of the consequences of this bill, but that Goans would also lose out on benefits they presently receive from other prevailing Acts.
