PFI demands action into Babri demolition

MARGAO: The Goa unit of the Popular Front of India held a silent demonstration outside the old South Goa district Collectorate on Saturday demanding action in the demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992.

PFI general secretary Iftiyaza Syed demanded that the Centre should take action based on the recommendation of Justice M S Liberhan report; declare Babri Masjid demolition as a terrorist act and punish the guilty at the earliest.
He said the government should take the initiative in rebuilding the Babri Masjid in the interest of the nation, saying the demolition of the Babri Masjid is a symbol of injustice and reconstruction of the Masjid at the same site will be welcomed by secular India.
The Front demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should take the initiative in resolving the land dispute at the Babri Masjid site and invite minority community leaders to rebuild the Masjid at the same site as confidence building measures.
