MAPUSA: The NDPS Court, Mapusa has granted bail to alleged drug peddlers Ramdas Mandrekar and Dattaprasad Gaonkar on furnishing bonds of Rs 30,000 and sureties of Rs 15,000 each.
Both the accused persons were placed under arrest by Anjuna Police in the alleged murder case of BJP leader Sonali Phogat.
Mandrekar was arrested for supplying drugs to Dattaprasad Gaonkar (employee of Grand Leony Resort), who later supplied it to Sudhir Sangwan (personal assistant of Phogat).
Recently the case was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which arrived in Goa last week and started investigations.
The autopsy of Phogat revealed multiple ‘blunt injuries’ on her body as her aides had allegedly forced her to drink water mixed with an “obnoxious” substance.
