The Photo Journalists Association, Goa in collaboration with the Department of Information and Publicity & Entertainment Society of Goa will celebrate its 3rd anniversary on World Photography Day, on August 19 at ESG, Panjim.
New executive committee headed by Rajtilak Naik will be installed formally in the presence of Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar and Director Information & Publicity Menino Peres.
The other members of the committee are immediate past president Barnabe Sapeco, general secretary Atish Naik, treasurer Rozario Estibeiro (Herald), Vice President (South) Sagun Gawade and Vice President (North) Kailas Naik.
Senior photographers Palmira Coutinho from Panjim and Prakash Raikar from Velim will be presented with the late Madhukar Soiru Komarpant Lifetime Achievement Award for their contribution in the photography field followed by prize distribution of students’ photography competition organized by PJAG. Vishnu Surya Wagh will deliver the keynote address on the ‘Importance of Photo Journalism’. A special 3rd Anniversary Exhibition Directory will be released on the occasion followed by the inauguration of the news photography exhibition featuring works of 20 photojournalists, representing State newspapers, which remain open for public from August 19 to 21 at the ESG Art Gallery, Panjim.
