PANJIM: Failing to act on a complaint of noise pollution during the code of conduct period proved costly for Anjuna Police Inspector Krishna Sinhari who has been suspended.
The suspension order, issued by Deputy Inspector General of Police Bhairon Singh Gurja, asks Sinhari to report to Goa Reserve Police during the suspension.
“A disciplinary proceeding against PI Sinhari is contemplated. During the period of this (suspension) order remain in force, his headquarters shall be GRP ‘D’ Coy, Altinho-Panjim. He shall not leave the suspension headquarters without obtaining prior permission of the undersigned,” the suspension order states.
The action comes following a report from North SP Kartik Kashyap that despite repeated complaints of loud noise at Shiva Valley shack, Sinhari failed to act. The report, submitted to the police headquarters, charged him with misconduct at the time when the code of conduct is underway in the run up to the February 4 polls.
