PANJIM: Former Konkan Railway Police Inspector Vincy Paes passed away in a private hospital Friday. Paes was undergoing medical treatment and was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital for nearly a week.
Paes was suspended on April 22 for alleged serious lapses into an investigation of suicide of a mother, who had killed herself and dragged her son along, by jumping in front of a train on the Tivim-Sirsaim railway tracks in March.
The department had reinstated Paes, after an inquiry, on June 27.
