PIL against Ravindra Bhavan dismissed

PANJIM, AUG 5 A public interest litigation (PIL) filed by a Vasco resident challenging construction of Ravindra Bhavan at Baina, was dismissed by the High Court of Bombay at Goa, today.

A public interest litigation (PIL) filed by a Vasco resident challenging construction of Ravindra Bhavan at Baina, was dismissed by the High Court of Bombay at Goa, today.
The petitioner had pleaded that the construction of this project was in violation of coastal regulation zone (CRZ) notification.
The Division Bench of Justice A S Oka and Justice F M Reis passed the judgement in a petition filed by one Andrew Alvares.
Alvares had pleaded that the project was in total violation of the CRZ notification and National Highways Authority of India Act.
Quoting records, the petitioner had pleaded that plans for the project were developed after licence was issued and entire process was being done in an haphazard and illegal manner.
