MAPUSA: In order to provide relief to the students from Internet connectivity issues attending online classes, Pilerne-Marra Village Panchayat took the initiative and launched free WiFi Hotspots at 10 different locations in all the 10 wards of the village to help the students to attend the online classes.

Sarpanch Sandeep Bandodkar said that the students in the village area used to face difficulty in studying and attending online classes and had requested the panchayat to resolve the issue.
Pilerne-Marra Panchayat is the first panchayat in Bardez Taluka to launch this facility after Pernem Taluka.
“Students were forced to move outside their houses and even sit in hilly areas to get proper Internet connectivity since it was not possible for everyone to get a good network. We have launched WiFi Hotspots in all the 10 wards of the village panchayat,” Bandodkar said.
“However we appeal to the students not to misuse this service and use it only for study purposes and not for gaming or any other purpose. Setting up of this facility was delayed since we had to follow the procedure. Pillerne-Marra Panchayat has always worked for the development of village with positivity and unity of the members,” sarpanch added.
