BICHOLIM: The Pilgao gram sabha on Sunday adopted a resolution to conduct a survey of migrants in the village and collect data about them.
The resolution was adopted following a demand from the villagers that a thorough survey of migrants living in the village be conducted as per the resolution adopted in an earlier gram sabha.
Replying to the demand, Sarpanch Pradeep Naik said around 225 migrants are living in the village whose names are not registered in panchayat.
He assured to conduct a survey of all the migrants with regards to their registration and other issues. The meeting also discussed developmental issues.
Besides the villagers, the meeting was attended by Deputy Sarpanch Urmila Parab Gaonkar, Panchas Lalana Gimonkar and Sandeep Salelkar.
Suraj Amonkar from the BDO office was the observer for gram sabha.
