SIOLIM: A portion of Major District Road (MDR) near Siolim Primary Health Centre was damaged following a pipeline burst.

According to sources, the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when Water Resources Department officials were testing pressure of a newly installed water pipeline of a Tillari project in Siolim. This pipeline is yet to be operational. While testing the pipeline, due to the massive air pressure, the same burst as the water gushed out and damaged a portion of the road. The impact was such that the water even entered into a shop located close by.

Locals said that initially there was a minor leakage however, later the pipeline burst as it could not withhold the pressure and this led to a portion of the road getting damaged.

When the pipeline burst open a scooterist who was commuting along the route had a lucky escape. However, the scooter was damaged.
