PONDA: Finally, there was a feeling of joy among Cumbarjua, Old Goa, Marcela and Khandola residents on Thursday as they received the news that the second 750 dia water pipeline had been restored.
The locals were elated after Executive Engineer, Nivruthi Parsekar informed that the pipeline was restored at around 12 pm.
It is pertinent to note that the locals Cumbarjua, Old Goa, Marcela and Khandola were left dejected on Wednesday on receiving the news that it would take another seven days to restore the 750 dia water pipeline.
Stating that they were subjected to injustice and neglect, the claimed that Tiswadi taluka including Panjim was given preference by restoring the 900 dia pipeline and for releasing water to the taluka first.
It may be recalled that the residents went through a harrowing experience after they were left without water for eight days following the breakdown of the pipeline.
