MARGAO: The depositors of Visionaries Co-operative Society on Monday filed a police complaint against the Assistant Registrar of the Co-operative Societies for failing to turn up at the Colva branch.
The administration of the Society which has been vested into the hands of the shareholders and the staff of the Colva branch were called on Monday to open the branch which was closed and to discuss as to when they would provide the necessary data on the depositors’ money. However, the Colva branch manager, former chairman of the bank, Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies Pandurang Parab and others, who were summoned, failed to turn up at the branch.
The depositors have alleged that the authorities by not turning up at the meeting have shown their lethargy. The depositors have sought the computerised data of the bank and audit report and have been kept waiting for the last nine months.
