MARGAO: South Goa Congress District President Subhash Faldessai has lodged a complaint with the police alleging that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had addressed a meeting at Morpilla in Quepem constituency by using loud speaker without permission.
He said the meeting held on March 23 was addressed by Parrikar and others to drum up support for the BJP candidate Narendra Sawaikar.
In his petition to the Returning Officer South Goa and the police, Faldessai said the Cuncolim police was prompt in registering a FIR against Quepem MLA Babu Kavlekar for allegedly using loudspeaker at his residence without permission. He prayed to the Returning Officer that the authorities should adopt the same yardstick and book the CM.
