PANJIM: A complaint was filed Sunday at the Panjim, Police station against Mickky Pacheco, his personal assistant Lyndon Monteiro, Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar and the Chief Electrical Engineer for allegedly trying to exert undue influences and pressurize Junior Engineer Kapil Natekar to compound the offences in 2006 assault case.
In the complaint, Advocate Aires Rodrigues said that he had “bonafide reasons to believe that Junior Engineer Kapil Natekar is being mentally pressurized and criminally intimidated to compound the case which resulted in the conviction of Mickky Pacheco.”
Pacheco who was sentenced to undergo a six months jail sentence imposed by the Bombay High Court at Goa for assaulting Natekar in 2006 is still evading the law. Rodrigues claims in his complaint that having availed all the legal avenues, “Pacheco is now in collusion and connivance with the senior officials of the Electricity Department and Manohar Parrikar.”
Seeking that Pacheco, Monteiro, Parrikar and the Chief Electrical Engineer be booked for offences punishable under sections 506, 511 IPC r/w 34 and 120-B of Indian Penal Code, Rodrigues stated that he would “move the matter to Court for appropriate orders so that the Police machinery is not misused and the rule of law prevails.”
