PANJIM: Dissociating from the issue surrounding the reinstatement of his brother-in-law in service, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said the reinstatement of Ghanshyam Malvankar had been done by an administrative decision and he has no role to play in it.
The chief minister also said the decision to transfer or shunt out the officers of Anti-Corruption Branch after the arrest of Malvankar, is also an administrative one.
“As per my information, any police officer (servers for certain years) at a particular posting and after that he has to move on. In the case of SP and PI of ACB, they were due for the transfers,” the chief minister said.
Parsekar said that any suspension is time-bound and after a time period they are reinstated into service pending inquiry. “There should also not be any injustice against Malvankar just because he is my relative. He falls in line along with any other officer who is suspended, no special treatment is given to him,” Parsekar said.
