MARGAO: Benaulim activist Cruz Fernandes has made a strong plea to Power Minister Nilesh Cabral not to grant any further extension to Chief Electrical Engineer N N Reddy, who has already enjoyed two extensions in service following his retirement.
The second extension granted to Reddy is due to expire on October 31, 2018 and Cruz had pleaded that no further extension be granted to him as that would deprive a Goan woman from being promoted to the top-most post in the department.
Reshma Kenkre, who is in line for the post of Chief Electrical Engineer is due to retire on August 31, 2019 and if she is not promoted this time then the government would be working against the interest of Goans and shall have no moral right to the claim of Goem, Goenkar and Goenkarponn, said Cruz.
