MARGAO: Decks have been cleared for action against the illegal structures atop Talsanzor hillock adjoining Moti Dongor with district Collector N D Agrawal on Thursday rejecting the plea of the residents for regularisation of the structures.
Agrawal told Herald this evening that he has rejected all the applications for regularisation of the structures atop Talzansor. “My decision to reject the regularisation plea was based on the government’s acceptance of the resolution of the Margao Comunidade against regularisation of any illegal structures on Talsanzor”, Agrawal said, adding “I have decided against the regularisation plea of the residents based on the government’s decision accepting Margao Comunidade’s resolution”
He said the order rejecting the plea for regularisation will be served on the applicants either on Saturday or Monday.
The Administrator of Communidades Sangeeta Naik had spared the Talsanzor structures on grounds that the plea of the residents for regularisation is pending before the district Collector.
It is learnt that there were two different sets of petitions before the Collector for regularisation, one filed by the group headed by Camilo Barretto and another group. With the district Collector rejecting the regularisation plea, sources said the Administrator of Comunidades will now have to serve n orders on the 36 parties to clear the structures. As far as the 58 structures are concerned, the parties will have to be given four weeks time before any action is initiated against them as per the High Court directions.
Herald understand that around 90-odd structures are standing tall on the Talsanzor hillock and the Comunidade of Margao has sought demolition of all illegal structures, rejecting plea for their regularisation.
