MARGAO: Villagers of Sao Jose De Areal have raised serious concerns over the lack of proper road and drainage infrastructure at a site where 22 plots
have been developed and have called on the authorities to investigate the matter immediately.
According to plans submitted to the panchayat body, there should be a 10-metre road and drainage at the site. However, villagers have alleged that no such infrastructure is in place.
They have accused the panchayat body of blindly approving the plans and of engaging in a conspiracy to allow the development to go ahead without proper infrastructure.
Freddy Travaso, a local resident, warned that the villagers will not tolerate such destruction any longer and will expose
all conspiracies to save
the village.
“It was shocking to find that the concerned site has no road or drainage.
There are around 22 plots developed over here, but without road and drainage,” said Travaso.
Travaso further questioned the authorities on how they could pass the plans without road and drainage, despite knowing that it is mandatory.
