PANJIM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged his party-led State governments to take into confidence its coalition partners in the decision making process.
Speaking to media persons, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said that during the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting chaired by Prime Minister on March 10, they were told to take the coalition partners into confidence.
“Both Prime Minister, and party President Amit Shah were of the opinion that the BJP led government should work in coordination with its alliance partners. Their (coalition) members should be part and parcel of the government’s decision making,” he said. “They were very clear that we cannot have everything of our choice. They are our coalition partners and we have to work with them,” Parrikar added.
Asked whether MGP and Goa Forward will extend support to the BJP candidate for the post of President, the Chief Minister said, “It is always assumed that all the coalition partners will support the party’s president candidate, but there can be some issues and we have to deal with it.” Goa Forward leader and Minister Vijai Sardesai and MGP Minister Ramakrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar were part at the NDA meeting held in Delhi. Goa Forward has already joined the NDA.
