PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said that around 50,000 people are expected to attend the public rally, to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Margao on February 6, 2024.
Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister said over 50,000 persons are expected to attend the ‘Vikasit Bharat, Vikasit Goem 2047’ Maha Rally, to be addressed by the Prime Minister.
Sawant said the rally will be held at 1.30 pm at KTC bus stand Margao. He said around 26,000 BJP workers will attend the event.
The Chief Minister said the party has decided to send two trains of party workers from Goa to Ayodhya on February 12 and 26, 2024. He said the government will also start similar initiatives at a later point in time.
Meanwhile, party state president and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Sadanand Shet Tanavade said notification for Lok Sabha polls is likely by February end or March and BJP candidates for both the Lok Sabha constituencies in the State will be declared by that time.
He said the BJP election offices in both constituencies will also be launched by February 15, 2024. He also said that surveys are being conducted to select prospective winnable candidates.
Tanavade said a BJP Bhavan will come up near the Panjim-Ponda Highway at Merces and legal formalities for the same have been completed. The foundation stone for the building will be laid by the party’s National President JP Nadda.
Sawant also informed that party Lok Sabha poll in-charge Ashish Sood is meeting party leaders in Goa and discussing party strategy for ensuing polls.
