PMC candidates vow major developmental changes in Ponda

PONDA: With the Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) elections scheduled to be held on April 29, the candidates backed by the political parties have released their manifestos wherein they have promised to bring about major developmental changes in the town.

PONDA: With the Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) elections scheduled to be held on April 29, the candidates backed by the political parties have released their manifestos wherein they have promised to bring about major developmental changes in the town.
The main highlights in the manifestoes includes promoting of self-employment to individual and self help groups, plastic free and clean Ponda, corruption-free council, discourage use of plastic bags, proper sanitation in the fish market, provision of public urinals, drinking water facilities at bus stand, market and public places, development of open spaces, enhancing greenery in town and its outskirts,  planned parking and traffic management within town limits, beautification of streets with pedestrian-friendly walkways and footpaths, planning of various works from government agencies, recreation  centres for senior citizens, time-bound service to community in PMC, completion of pending projects, proper utilisation of new market complex which is unused,  underground power cabling, solution to sopo issue,  online payment of house tax and other taxes, proper utilisation of municipal funds,   transparent and people-friendly administration, promotion of cottage industries, monthly open meeting with citizens for feedback and suggestions, proper parking, implementation of traffic management plan,  installation of CCTV cameras etc.
