PONDA: Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) Chairperson Shantaram Colvekar, on Tuesday, resigned from his post citing personal reasons.
Colvekar had become chairperson six months ago in 15-member council.
He is originally from BJP and had contested the election for the chairperson post and got elected with support of MGP and Goa Forward backed councillors.
He had defeated BJP backed Councillor Ritesh Naik, son of Ponda MLA Ravi Naik.
