PONDA: Following a Deputy Collector’s order, the Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) on Tuesday demolished the illegal constructions encroaching on a road widening area.
According to Municipal Engineer Vishant Naik, the encroachments, done by builders in 2018, involved business activities in the road set back area. There were five encroachments within three meters of the road set back area.
After a complaint and concluded hearings, the Deputy Collector directed the PMC’s Flying Squad to demolish the illegal structures. Accordingly, action was taken, and the illegal structures were cleared.
