PONDA: Fed up with several warning letters and notices to recover pending outstanding taxes, the Ponda Municipal Council has now warned the tax payers through notice that it has resolved to take step to recover huge pending dues/arrears towards house tax, rent, trade, sign board fees and decided to initiate action for disconnection of water and electricity and sealing process.
The council has urged the public to pay the dues andarrears towards outstanding taxes within fifteen days. It is learnt that outstanding dues had accumulated to over Rs 2 crore, however arrears to the tune of Rs 60 lakh has been cleared.
PMC is struggling to recover all these dues pending for the past many years by issuing notices, warning letters but some people are still not ready to clear their taxes.
