PANJIM: Congress Senior observer and All India Congress Committee (AICC) leader P. Chidambaram said Congress refrained from going ahead with alliance talks with Trinamool Congress (TMC) as the latter is constantly involved in ‘poaching’ Congress leaders.
“They poached Luizinho Faleiro, and even after the proposal of alliance, they poached Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, whose name was in the Congress’s first list of the candidates. They also poached in other constituencies, like Mormugao and Vasco,” said Chidambaram.
He said that the Chief Minister’s face of Congress will be declared by taking all the candidates into confidence. “Whether to declare it now or later is yet to be decided,” said Chidambaram addressing media on Sunday.
