PANJIM: Goa Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar on Monday said that the Person of Goan Origin (POGO) Bill will not come up for discussion during the ensuing Assembly session as the same has been sent to the government for legal opinion.

Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) lone MLA Viresh Borkar had given a notice to introduce the Person of Goan Origin Bill on the Private Member’s Day during the month-long monsoon session of Goa assembly.

Reacting to it, Tawadkar said, “It is difficult for Person of Goan Origin Bill to come for discussion in this session. Several government departments are involved. So the bill has been sent to the government for legal opinion,” he added.
