CANACONA: The Poinguinim gram sabha deliberated on various developmental works with members anticipating all-around development in the village.
Amid the members forwarding various developmental proposals in the Sunday gram sabha, a resolution was passed to construct retaining walls alongside the landslide-prone road from Pouinguinim Bazaar to Galgaibaga via Mahalwada as instances of several landslides occur here.
While forwarding various other developmental works, members anticipated fast track development in the village, especially as the village is home to Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar.
Besides, according to sources, members are also expecting various government doles for the village betterment, as Sarpanch Mahesh Naik is also the taluka block president of the ruling BJP.
On the government’s announcement of ‘no house tax to BPL households’ Sarpanch Naik said no concrete order has been received from the government except for asking the list of BPL families and the approximate revenue generated annually from the BPL households.
