South Goa Superintendent of Police Tikam Singh Verma on Wednesday said that the police act promptly whenever information is received about Dhirio, an illegal bullfighting practice, by immediately dispatching teams to the location to stop the activity.
Addressing concerns over the recurrence of such incidents, the SP said that police personnel are sent to the spot without delay upon receiving specific inputs. He added that whenever such illegal activities are detected, cases are registered in accordance with the law.
Verma stressed that Dhirio and similar unlawful practices will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He reiterated the police department’s commitment to enforcing the law strictly and taking action against those involved to prevent the continuation of such activities.
The South Goa Police have also appealed to the public to share credible information in advance to help authorities intervene effectively and curb illegal practices.
