Police advised to appoint special PP in formalin case

MARGAO:  The Margao court hearing the formalin in fish case advised the police to appoint a new special public prosecutor to appear in the case, if the present prosecutor doesn’t recover from his illness before the next date of hearing on July 31.
The case was adjourned on Thursday as the Special Public Prosecutor Prasad Kirtany was absent due to his illness.
Earlier on July, Adv Kirtany had informed the court that he wasn’t well after which the case was posted to July 18.
The petitioner in the case Adv Rajeev Gomes said that the hearings in the case have to progress and the case can’t be delayed in this manner.
Adv Gomes brought four bottles of formalin to the court on Thursday after the prosecution said it was not poisonous on the last date of hearing.
