Police stated that certain points were explained to the managers so that these can be practised to avoid crimes. They said that certain items should not be kept at the ATM compartments that can cause robbery or theft. The police also asked the managers to make sure that every ATM has a security guard or else it should be closed at night.
The information was sent to all banks in the State to avoid unforeseen incidents. They have also ordered the banks to alert account holders of the same. Police said the recent incident at the ICICI bank ATM was due to technical deficiency and therefore appropriate mechanisms should be followed to avoid these incidents.
