PONDA: The Ponda Police and the local municipality on Sunday created awareness on COVID via loudspeaker in the market and nearby areas. A police team led by PSI Aditya Velip issued fines to around 53 violators who were found without masks.
The police informed the residents on the increasing number of COVID cases and directed them not to gather in large number due to imposition of Section 144.
The police urged the locals to compulsorily wear masks when they move out of their houses for shopping.
