PANJIM: The mystery into the death of the Indian tourist whose semi-nude body was found at Arambol beach on Friday morning has deepened with the police still clueless on the identity of the woman and other details as to where and with whom she stayed in Goa.
Prima facie, the deceased seems to have come from South India. “We are ascertaining her details. As of now, we don’t have any details of the victim,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahesh Gaonkar said. He added there is nothing on the body to identify the woman.
The police have also failed to locate and identify the three boys with whom the woman, in her mid-20s, was last seen on the beach. No belongings have also been found on the second day of the investigation.  According to locals, the unidentified woman had been partying till about 5am at a beach shack from where she then walked to the beach with three unidentified boys.
Locals say that the girl was seen at a party near the sweet water lake on Thursday night. A local, operating a beach shop, said the woman was seen at the party but he is unable to state whether she was accompanied by anybody at the party. Nobody in Arambol remembers seeing the girl in the village.
It is learnt that she later went for a swim. Sources said she could have consumed alcohol before going for swim. The body was found on the beach in a seminude position with froth on the nose on Friday morning.
