MARGAO: Fatorda police have registered an offence against Popular Front of India and Social Democratic Party of India President Mujaffar Shaik Ahmed, Treasure Raees Anjum, General Secretary Shaik Zabir Ahmed, Abdul Rauf, Iftiaz Sayyed and around 100 others for organising an illegal protest near Mathany Saldanha Administrative Complex, here, in view of demolition of Babri Masjid without any permission.
Police said that they continued to protest despite instructing them to disperse.
Police said that an alleged accused person delivered a speech in which may incite communal disharmony and enmity between two groups of different religions thereby disturbing public tranquillity.
Based on the complaint lodged by PSI Sarvesh Bhandari, police have registered an offence under Section 143,145, 153 A reads with 149 IPC.
