Police crack abduction case within 12 hours, nab four

Project manager of AN Gas Lines was abducted from work site at Nuvem at around 6.30 pm on Tuesday

MARGAO: Maina Curtorim police succeeded in solving a case of abduction within 12 hours of it being reported to them, by arresting four accused with the help of Karnataka police at Sirsi. 
Ambrish Pratap Singh, the project manager of AN Gas Lines, was abducted from the work site at Nuvem at around 6.30 pm on September 24. Immediately after receiving a complaint of the abduction, the police launched an investigation and cracked the case within 12 hours.
According to the complaint lodged by site supervisor Shivam Singh, a native of Agra but residing at Davorlim, at around 6.30 pm four persons came in a Karnataka registered black Honda City car at their work site near Tata Showroom at Nuvem and abducted Ambrish and fled from the scene after forcibly putting him in the car.
The incident was reported to their head office in Delhi from where a photograph of a person was forwarded to check whether that person was involved in the abduction and it was confirmed that the person seen in the photograph was the leader of the group.
Even as the person whose photograph was sent was identified as Mohammed Mustafa, Ambrish Pratap Singh answered Shivam Singh’s call and said he would be returning soon. However, as he did not come back, a complaint was lodged with the police.
DySP Raju Raut Dessai took over the investigations assisted by PI Pravinkumar Vast, PSIs Karishma Prabhu, Tejaskumar Naik and Sanjit Kandolkar along with other police personnel and learnt that the vehicle had already crossed the Goa border and was moving in Karnataka.
DySP Raju alerted the Karnataka police who set up nakabandis at main locations and finally the vehicle was intercepted by the Sirsi Police in the Sirsi market at around 4 pm and found the victim along with three of the abductors in the vehicle. Accordingly, a team led by PSI Sanjit Kandolkar went to take custody of all four persons.
Thereafter, with assistance of Karnataka police the main accused Mohammed Mustafa and along with Mohammad Jahid, Mohammad Shaikh Suleman and Nawaz Ibava all residents of Suratkal in Karnataka were arrested.
The main accused Mohammed Mustafa disclosed that the project manager was abducted because AN Gas Lines was not paying him Rs 10 lakh for his services provided to the company at Rameshwaram.
