MARGAO: The AICC General Secretary, Girish Chodankar, has deposed before the court hearing the ticket-gate case that if the police had acted on his complaint and the lathi charge wouldn’t have happened.
Chodankar deposed that two days before the ticket scam came to light, he had complaint to the police of the same. “Since the police failed to take action on my complaint filed on 04/04/2001, the entire issue of the ticket scam erupted and the law and order problem occurred,” he told the court during his examination.
“I had contacted the then DySP and SP, but no action was taken,” he said.
“I had informed the police that I was receiving complaints from some youth that they were unable to obtain tickets for the ODI,” he submitted.
