PONDA: Ponda Police on Friday registered a case against 38-year-old husband from Santa Cruz, Ponda for an attempt to murder his wife, aged 37 years, by strangulation.
According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday late evening. The husband and wife had a quarrel over some issue and during their argument husband in a fit of rage tried to fear her by strangulating the neck, in the process she fell unconscious. The panicked husband immediately called the police.
The police rushed to the spot and shifted the woman to Dilasa Hospital, Farmagudi where she regained her consciousness. Thereafter, the police shifted her to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
The husband said his intention was to frighten her. Police have registered an offence for attempt to murder against husband. The couple has one year old child.
