PANJIM: The Court has granted police seven days custody of Sai Kindaikar, the fourth accused in the Merces tourist assault case who had surrendered before police on Monday.
Kundaikar went absconding soon after the incident on June 14, escaping police arrest. He had filed for anticipatory bail before the Panjim court but withdrew it on Monday and then surrendered before the police.
The other three accused – Lawrence Dias, Suraj Shetye and Vishal Golatkar – were arrested for attempt to murder. The four have been charged with attempting to kill a group of tourists from Mumbai on June 14.
