Police move court for nod to probe non-cognizable case against Chodankar

PANJIM: The Panjim Police have moved to the local court seeking permission to investigate into AICC Secretary Girish Chodankar non-cognizable case filed by the Goa BJP President Vinay Tendulkar.
“We have moved to the local court seeking permission to investigate the case and as a part of investigation Chodankar will be summoned for questioning,” said Panjim PI Siddhant Shirodkar.
However, Panjim Police on Friday had registered a non-cognizable offence against All India Congress Committee Secretary Girish Chodankar for making defamatory statements against Bharatiya Janata Party and its leaders in which Chodankar was charged under Sections 500 and 501 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
According to the complaint filed by BJP State unit President Vinay Tendulkar, Chodankar had said that BJP pumped Rs 1000 crore to come to power in Goa which was published in various newspapers.
