Police on look out for conman

Police are on the look out for a crook who fraudulently withdrew over Rs 2 lakh using ATM card of another person, after pretending to help him.

PANJIM: Police are on the look out for a crook who fraudulently withdrew over Rs 2 lakh using ATM card of another person, after pretending to help him. 

Vasudeo Ramchandra Gulavani, a resident of Caranzalem complained to Panjim police station that on May 28 the unknown man who was present in the ATM mobile van at SBI Zonal Office helped him to operate his ATM Card for withdrawing Rs 2,500. 

Police said the accused then stole the ATM card, without the victim knowing about it, and withdrew total cash of Rs 2,09,643 from different ATMs. 

A Panjim police officer said they have sought for CCTV grab of the ATM to identify and locate the accused. 

In another incident, an employee of a city guest house is accused of having stolen Rs 30,000. As per the complaint, room boy Rajkumar Naik, a native of Ratnagiri stole the cash and is absconding. 

The police have informed their counterparts in Maharashtra to nab the culprit, while they are also looking for him in Goa.
